Ann & Keith — Indian Pond Wedding

I wanted to post the photos from Ann and Keith’s wedding on the same day that I revealed my new website and blog, which I have been working on FOREVER, but despite my best efforts (which means staying up past 10:30 a few times) I have not been able to wrangle that bad larry to completion. I don’t want Ann and Keith to have to wait any longer (because it’s already been TWO WHOLE WEEKS since their wedding); poor kids have been languishing, suffering, on the beaches of Hawai’i. Only I can save them now.

This post is looooong.

Have I mentioned before how much I love these two? Not only for the fact that they live in Nantucket and will be hosting me and a few hundred of my friends and family members over the next few years (a tiny detail I haven’t told them about yet), and not only for the fact that they — and their friends — are some of the funniest people I’ve ever worked at a wedding with (notice all the photos where at least one person is laughing hysterically), not even for the fact that they’re both completely photogenic and that they will do anything in front of the camera that I ask them to. No, the reason that I adore Ann and Keith so much is that after this much-maligned spring of my own personal romantic rejection and subsequent vow to forever wallow in the swamp of the bitterly jilted, being around this wonderful couple opened a window of light in my heart and just made me happy to be around authentic love. They LOVE each other. You can see it leaking out of them as they laugh among their friends, look at each other across a room…it’s transformative, and I felt completely blessed to be there when, after they exchanged vows, Keith referred to Ann in every sentence as “my wife, my wife,” as if it were nothing less than a dream come true. Sigh.

(The house on Nantucket thing is pretty swell, too. Just saying.)

Ann and Keith got married at Indian Pond surrounded by friends and family and personal touches of their life on the island. The weather cooperated by being PERFECT, and in between the total hilarity of being around Keith and his groomsmen and the wonderful sweetness Ann shared with her attendants (one of whom, Stacy, is on a personal mission to don a bridesmaid dress for, like, a million weddings this summer. She’s going for the record), I was able to make some images that will forever serve to remind me of what love looks like. A big thank you to Shannon Grant for second shooting for me and for always having cold water handy.

Ann and Keith, I wish you a lifetime of all of the things you already have. Light, love, and happiness. xoxox.
