When family comes to town…

Meet Muffy and her husband Paul and their five children.
And her brother Jeff and his wife Teresa and their triplets.
And her parents Bob and Suzanne.

Phew. Big family, but oh so fun to shoot. Everyone was awesome.

Muffy’s parents were SO fun.

As were Muffy and Paul. They both cracked me up all evening.

Planning ahead for the holidays

Despite my recent rant about rushing the seasons, my experience in past years has taught me that the best way to avoid going completely bananas in December is to get your holiday cards done as early as possible. So, in the spirit of the holidays, I am offering FREE design service to anyone who places their holiday card order with me prior to October 15th. I have a number of designs to choose from, and, as always, each design can be customized for you. Here are some examples of designs from prior years, as well as some new looks. There’s a cold, rainy, gray storm blowing through Massachusetts today but baby, this one’s toasty. Meet Raegan Claire. I double dog dare you to find another 8-day old with this much chi-BOOM.

After gracing us with her steady gaze for a bit, she cooperated and went to sleep so we could make her into a baby burrito.

“We’d really love to get some shots of our family with our animals.”

This is what Trish told me when I spoke with her on the phone about her upcoming shoot. I was imagining a beach session with romping dogs and slobbery tennis balls, but Trish said we could shoot right in her back yard as the animals she was referring to were chickens, goats, bunnies, and one very chubby and bashful pig named Flora. Oink.

Trish has two fantastic kids: Mitchell, who is fourteen, and Courtney, who is eleven and is a total mama to Flora.

Obie and Rose needed very little coaxing to pose for me. I had to do a little drool removal.

Fuzzy chickens! And poor Flora. She was just so shy…

Trish is a riot, and she and her kids have a great time together.

I love this one:

Mister B. was brought out for his close up. I think he’s giving me stink-eye. Check him out in the bike basket!

Trish’s sister Kelly (owner of the fabulous Blush) is a great friend of mine, and it was so fun to see the two of them goofing around together. We had a great deal of wine when the shoot was over. As it should be.

I think shooting on the farm is my new favorite thing. A great big thank you to Trish, Mitchell, Courtney and all of their barnyard friends for such a fun afternoon!
