The Blog

A last-minute location switch from the beach to the North End was the best idea Molly and Jon have ever had. Well, that, and the decision to get engaged. That was pretty smart too. These two turned on the heat for my camera and made it one of my favorite shoots of the year. We started with a few cocktails, then strolled around the neighborhood (which happens to be my old stomping grounds, so I got to check out the old digs. Plus gelato.).

Molly is an absolute stunner and was totally natural in front of the camera.

undefined

We found a few private corners, and RAWR.

Willing to jump for me!

I love these:

undefined

Jon is the nicest guy on the planet, and you can tell how much he loves Molly by the way he looks at her. Seriously:

Amazing late afternoon light:

Through a scheduling conflict, I had to bring Calder along, and Molly and Jon could not have been more accommodating. They are both teachers and love kids, and I think Calder developed a little crush on Molly…

Molly and Jon, thank you so much for your amazing smiles and for such a nice evening. I can’t wait until August, your wedding is going to be gorgeous! xoxo

A few months ago I had a shoot with my old neighbors Kimberly and Eric, and their two awesome kids, Stella and Sam (both of whom have been featured here before). The day we chose was sunny, but blustery, and it was clear within the first ten minutes that we were not going to get much more than shivers and runny noses from the kids (this is when it’s good to have parents who a) know their children’s limitations and b) have beers). We let the day go, rescheduled, and ended up with a KILLER morning for Take Two; sunny, warm, happy, beachy, POW. I’m posting a few from the before just because the kids are still darn cute, but the majority are from our super-session.

Stella and Sam on day one:

A much happier crowd when the temperature was balmy. Stella shows off some of her dance moves:

Such a pretty kid. I can’t believe she’s so grown up. Word has it she’s got a bit of a crush on Calder 😉

undefined

I don’t think I have words for this guy. Seriously. Sam will surely rule the world someday.

Gorgeous family:

When we were finished, a trip to Arthur and Pat’s for pancakes brought even bigger smiles.

undefinedundefined

Kimberly, Eric, Stella, and Sam — you rock. Every moment spent with you all makes me smile. Thanks for sharing your morning, thanks for breakfast, and thanks for being such good friends. xoxox

I have been waiting FOREVER to photograph these three kids. I mean, look at them. I’ve been pals with their amazing mom Deanna and dad Greg since the youngest was brand new; see? Forever. And then, once I finally got the gig, and we finally did the shoot, I had to wait another forever to post them because Deanna ordered (big!) standouts for Greg for Father’s Day and it was a surprise. I swear, these images have been smoking up my blog queue for weeks. You know it was totally worth it though. One of my favorite shoots of the year. Check out the AWESOMESAUCE that is Amelia, Audrey, and Carter:

undefined

Audrey is the oldest and is truly one of the nicest kids I know. She brought all the good light juju:

undefined

undefined

Amelia is in the same grade as Calder and has been making me smile every morning for the past two years because she always gives me a little wave from the bus. She is the spitting image of her beautiful mom:

undefined

undefined

I swear Carter’s drinking some kind of super-grow juice because just last week he was this little blob of a baby on the beach, and now he’s a Capital B Capital K Big Kid.

undefined

undefined

They were all happy to just hang out and do their thing:

I love this one:

Deanna and Greg, you are truly blessed with these guys. And I am so lucky to know all of you and to count you among my friends. Thank you for letting me create these photos for you — I hope you love them as much as I do!

Gigantic hooks, bottomless chops, and Grace and her Gibson flying V. Epic. Makes badass wannabes strut and air guitar all over the house, but, you know, not me.

WAIT, WHY…WHAT DID YOU HEAR?

Once again, I got to work with my buddy Bob Pattison, and once again, he sent me off to spend the morning with the guys. Maybe he thinks I have a way with the fellas…? I’m glad someone does.

David is such a nice guy and he and his posse were so much fun to hang out with:

The guys rocked the pink suspenders and green ties. I think they made it work!

Beautiful Cal right before the ceremony:

Go check out Bob’s blog for all of the amazing shots from the day. He really nailed it.

Things I did yesterday:

1. Swept up a pound of glitter left over from crazy hair day
2. Broke a sweat standing in front of the cereal deciding what to eat
3. Dripped sweat standing perfectly still in my living room
4. Discussed the misery of how hot it was with my neighbors
5. Sweated more
6. Went swimming in the ocean. Almost froze.
7. Ate a bag of Fritos for dinner (too hot to cook)
8. More sweating
9. Swept up a pound of sand tracked in from the beach

The best thing I did yesterday, however, was to hang out with my new pals Ben and Sam. I met them at their super-cool house, which had all these terraces and paths through the woods. We went on a little adventure.

undefined

undefined

Ben has such a great smile.

undefinedundefined

And Sam is a super-cutie.

A big thank you to Raina and Ben and Sam for spending the morning with me. Can’t wait to see you all again!

I heard this coming out of the car in front of me this morning at the Starbucks drivethru, and now I can’t get enough. She’s so badass.

Raegan completely overloads the cute circuits. Even the totally jaded ducks wanted to hang out near her, despite her lack of stale bread crumbs.

Hello, Most Awesome Jean Bum Ever.
undefined

DEE-licious

undefinedundefined

Fancy dress, funky hair. I love that little fuzzy head.

undefinedundefined

How spectacular is this family?
undefined

One last favorite. This is Raegan’s second-to-last shoot with me this year, so stay tuned for next time when the cuteness will surely make your head explode.
