The Blog

This is my fourth — maybe fifth? — shoot with Max. I have to take a nap, warm up, and eat some kind of energy bar before I hang out with him, because once he gets his feet under him, it’s nothing but go go go. GO!

Aren’t you exhausted just looking at them? Good thing he’s so darn cute.

I have wrested back my brain from the total mind control of all things 100 degrees and over. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older or if it’s because the drone of the air conditioner knocked me senseless, but I just could not function properly in that heat wave last week. Couldn’t work, couldn’t clean, couldn’t hold meaningful conversations; when it gets that hot, if you don’t want to accept a blank stare for an answer, you may as well not even bother talking to me. Fortunately, Charlie was cute enough to break through the torpor. How she managed to stay cool and happy throughout our steamy shoot is a mystery, but keep doin’, baby.

Laurie’s dad was kind enough to bring the charlie t. around to the Yacht Club so we could shoot on Charlie’s namesake vessel. She’s a very proud captain:

I’m on a boat!

“Hello! Yes, my boat! Isn’t she awesome? Like me?”

You know I luuuuuuuuurrrrrrve this one:

I swear this girl stays happy no matter what. It was like standing on the surface of the sun out on this marsh, but she (and Laurie and Dave) just kept smiling!

Thanks, family. Can’t wait for the next one!

They’re calling for temperatures over 95 degrees here for the next few days; big fun. Shoots can be tough in the heat, but last night I got to hang with a gang of super-chill superheroes. They kept their cool, and we all ended up in the water. That’s key.

The gorgeous Rachel and her handsome brother Will:

Big boy Drew:

Can you even believe this light? THIS, clients, is why I want to start our shoots at 6pm. Just sayin’.

Melissa and Ted were so easy to work with and clearly loved watching the kids have fun:

Awesome family:

Like I said, it was REALLY hot:

Off to the beach. Wondering if my shoots are fun? Judge for yourself:

I love this one:

And this one:

A little flare to end the day. Thank you Melissa, Ted, Rachel, Will, and Drew, for being so much fun, and so cool. Hope you enjoy the photos!

I first met Billy a few months ago, and he was a champ for the camera. This past weekend I got to visit with Billy, his big sister Emma, and his mom and dad again; we spent some time in the city and had a blast.

Seriously, how sweet is this face?

Emma was a little shy with me the first time I came to photograph her brother, but this time she was all smiles:

Finger toes!

Thanks to Noelle, Bill, and both sweet kids for spending the morning with me. Check back again in a few months for more of Billy!

Kristen and Mike met at a friend’s wedding when they were both in the wedding party; Mike says he knew right away that he wanted to get to know Kristen. Get to know her he did, and this past weekend they tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony here in Cohasset. The rain was off and on all day, but both Kristen and Mike took it in stride, and the waterworks ceased every time we stepped outside to take photos. I think they have all the good juju.

Some details:

The bride getting ready:

As soon as the rain stopped, I took all the girls outside. LOVE the green dresses and the fabulous floral shoes!

Could Kristen be any more beautiful?

Mike’s not too shabby himself:

The guys were awesome and so much fun to work with:

A beautiful ceremony, then off to the beach, where once again, the rain held off for us:

How cool is this wedding party? That’s the bride’s brother Matt on the far right. Dude got some serious air.

These might be my favorites from the day:

Or these:

Or maybe this one:

The reception was at Atlantica in Cohasset, and we got there just in time to see the sun set outside the windows. Kristen’s sister Nicole totally made me tear up. There were a number of kids in the wedding as well; guess which one I have a crush on?

We ended the night with some (slightly damp) sparklers left over from the 4th of July. These two are seriously so much fun.

A big thank you to Peter for acting as my pack mule for the afternoon. Kristen and Mike, I wish you a lifetime of happiness, and I thank you for letting me be a part of your enchanting day!

Once again, I was fortunate enough to shoot a wedding with my good buddy Bob Pattison, and once again, he sent me to hang out with the guys. It was the day of the Bruins parade in Boston, and I was worried that I would walk into a house full of guys who wanted to be celebrating in the city, but this gang was one of the nicest I’ve ever worked with. Within a minute of arriving, I’d had a football tossed to me, I’d made the close, personal acquaintance of the family dog, and I was asked to help myself to a buffet of food. The guys were all awesome, and John, the groom, was kind as can be. There was still some celebrating going on, though:

There were a bunch of kids involved in this wedding, so you know I gravitated that way. Go see all the fantastic photos on Bob’s blog; as always, he did a tremendous job.

Some scenes from how I’ve spent the last week or so. Does anyone else think that maybe I should get some friends my own age?
