The Blog

I am shutting things down for a bit here while I head out of town to lie face down in the sand until I’m crispy. Like bacon. mmmmmmmmm.

Some couples need a little coaching to get into the mood for their engagement shoot. Coaching, or cocktails. Not so in the case of Kelley and Josh — they showed up ready to roll. They’re so into each other that just being around them is all kinds of warm and fuzzy. Kelley’s six-year-old son Connor might have had something to do with that as well. He brought his best smile and was truly a delight to work with. We met up in Duxbury and braved the chill to get some great relaxed portraits.

The very happy couple:

I love the color of winter beach grass.

This bridge is a true icon of my childhood — I rode my bike over it every single day in the summer. We commandeered a spot at one end and held up traffic for a bit. Totally worth it.

Love love love these:

Connor was such a great sport throughout, but I know how kids need to have a little something to look forward to, so I taught him about the photo bomb. He became an expert pretty quickly!

Kelley and Josh are expecting a baby later this year; consider these the first family portraits!

Off to the harbor to finish out the day. Kelley and Josh, thank you SO much for being such a wonderful couple to work with. And Connor can be my assistant anytime!

I honestly don’t think Evan has stopped smiling since he was born. Seriously. This is one gleeful kid. Evidence from the past twelve months:

Even though this was technically Evan’s last shoot, I’m hoping I’ll get to see more of him in the coming year — earlier this week, his mom Meg greeted me at the door of their beautiful new home with a decidedly bigger belly than she had the last time I saw her. New baby coming in June! Evan is going to be the best big brother.

Bella wanted in on those crackers. Evan was happy to share.

Gorgeous family.

Bella is very photogenic.

But even models need a quiet moment to reflect upon their beauty.

Outside to play down by the water.

I know it’s cliché, but Meg is legit glowing. You can tell Brian thinks so too…

My heartfelt thanks to this wonderful family for sharing Evan’s first year with me!
