The Buddhists call it Monkey Mind. Seth Godin writes brilliantly about it here. Most of the guys I meet are experts at it. Contradiction. Distraction. Second guessing. Mixed messages. The art of sticking to your story is HARD. Go with your head, or your heart? Move ahead with that original idea, or reign it in because it might alienate your customers/friends/community? Chicken or fish?
How much tenacity is too much? I always thought that if you followed your instincts, if you went with what felt right to you (exogenous factors notwithstanding), you’d always come out proud. It’s not that easy though, is it?
