Maximum Velocity

True story. Max is the fastest kid on the planet. The first time I photographed him, he was only a day or two into that whole “walking” thing and I was semi-able to keep up with him, but on this, our fourth shoot, I didn’t have enough words in my brain to get him to slow down and pose for the camera. I just laid into a Power Bar and some Red Bull and RAN.

This (famous) blue wall is right next to an arcade. Notice that the only way I could get Max to stop for a split second in his MAD need to go Skee-Balling was to hurl a few Smarties at him:

Contrary to appearances, this is not a pause in flight, this is merely a switch from horizontal to vertical movement.
